I met this little pup while out on a walk a few days ago… unfortunately that lump in her belly is not good news. She was super sweet and her owner seemed pretty torn up about the prognosis. For now, though, she’s still out and about, enjoying her morning walk.

He looks apprehensive, but actually he was the opposite— I had trouble keeping him away from me for long enough to get a shot. He was keen for affection.

No need to worry about moths when you’ve got a couple of these hanging around. They’re great for keeping pests away.

Oh yes, autumn is on its way. Expect more harvest colours from me from now through November.

Things are really shaping up around here on the supermarket front. There are now several places in Antalya where one can buy reasonably-priced caviar. It’s fantastic for an afternoon snack. I like it on toast with cream cheese.

Sometimes I forget how nice-looking some of our bridges are.

Yes, thinking of autumn, of course.

I’d heard fantastic things about the fresh fish market at Canyon/Mini-City, but when I went last week, the place was virtually abandoned. No one in the fish market, no fish, no nothing. They did have a lovely pond with some intentional faux-rural decay, which made for good photos, but I still don’t have any fish to eat.

I know I say a lot of negative things about summer, but holy cow, the tomatoes are good.

The council has completely overhauled the entire Greater Antalya bus system, and the changes came into effect over the weekend. All the old bus lines are officially gone.

So far, sure, things are sort of chaotic. That’s going to be the case with any major modification to people’s daily lives (humans hate change, no matter how much they may argue to the contrary, and will fight as hard as they can to avoid it). I initially grumbled about the new system, as well, but after studying it in greater detail, I have to say… this has the potential to work amazingly well. If the drivers can just get some momentum going, especially on the more minor routes, I think it’ll all go fairly smoothly after that. At first it looked to me as if the new routes were restricting travel, but now I can see that we can actually go a lot more places. In practical terms I’ve had mixed success so far, but as the kinks in the system get worked out, that’s bound to improve.

Okay, it’s a bit warm still for lentil soup, but sue me, I’m looking forward to autumn.
