The return of August clouds

Not-so-summer food

Mushroom cobbler

I have no idea why I thought turning on the oven in August would be a good idea, but I was in the mood for a baked meal and a savoury mushroom cobbler hit the spot. I have to admit, it was tasty, but it basically turned the entire house into an oven, which wasn’t terribly fun. I think I’ll wait for October to do any more baking.

Summer food

In the summer, it’s best to keep breakfast simple and as cold as possible. “Mostly fruits and vegetables” is a good rule of thumb.

Sleepy

Sleepy

You and me both, puppy. It’s incredibly difficult to stay awake and alert when the weather is so hot. Better just to plan your siestas accordingly, i.e. an entire month of sleeping.
