First day at the new gig

Şarampol Bazaar

This is the Şarampol street bazaar. On the surface, the new bazaar looks pretty much the same as the old bazaar.

Children of the Corn

Still plenty of children who should be in school. Whatevs.

Best advertising ever

One thing I noticed is that the pricing at these things is completely arbitrary. I used to pay 7 million for a tray of 30 jumbo eggs in Meltem. In Şarampol, the exact same tray is 5 million. Avocados were 1 million each in Meltem; they’re 2.5 million each in Şarampol.

Şarampol bazaar also has plastic jewelry I can bokeh the hell out of

I was warned that I would get lost the first time in a new bazaar, and that is exactly what happened. Luckily, getting lost is one of my favourite activities.

Tuna

During my wanderings I discovered that Tuna are bigger than humans. Wow.

Obligatory Escalator Shot

They have an escalator. Fancy.

All in all, I’d say it was a good experience. There was certainly more Turklish than you could shake a stick at, and quite a lot of my regular shopping was cheaper than I expected (though a few things were ridiculously expensive). So I’d say we’re back in business. The bazaar is dead; long live the bazaar!
