Oh, that is awesome, the Smena AND the vodka…I used to have a Smena 5 but that was long ago and if it is around here somewhere I’d be surprised if it worked. Beautiful photos, I’m guessing they weren’t taken with a Smena.:-D
Haha no, they were taken with my D40. I did start the Smena roll last night, though, and will finish it this afternoon, so I should have Smena photos by this evening.
I wouldn’t be shocked by anything with your Smena 5… these old ultra-manual cameras have so few moving parts, there’s not much on them to break, especially if it’s just been sitting in a box somewhere. You should try to dig it out!

hey Melissa,by any chance do you have the manual that came with that camera? I saw one of those manuals one time and it was just beautiful, wonderful retro graphics, and sadly I lost track of wherever i saw it and I google-d it with no luck.
Yes, I do have the manual, the leather case, the original box, everything – the manual is in Russian, of course, but I do have it and it’s in good condition. I’m guessing you’d like to see it? 🙂
Yeah, no problem – I have to fire up the scanner this evening anyway, as I’ll be scanning photos from the Smena, so I’ll just do it then and post the scans so everyone can see. You’re right, it is a pretty sweet looking manual that needs to be shared.

I'm not sure there are any attachable lenses for the Smena-6…. i.e. it's not like a Holga. But that shouldn't stop you from trying. 😀
Can't wait to see your photos!
