Skipping spring

To be there

Last year I was both surprised and pleased that the hottest part of summer, the part I really, really hate, deferred its entrance until late June, and even then it wasn’t as fierce as it had been in previous years. However, it has to be said that we also had a mild winter, and now it looks like spring has skipped out entirely. The above photo was taken in April of last year, and as you can see, things were still cloudy and snowy on the mountains. This year, the snow is all but gone already, and in the past couple of weeks we’ve seen temperatures up near 30°, which is ridiculous for this time of year. I’m hoping it’s just a short-lived anomaly, and that this summer isn’t going to be an angry payback for the lovely, relatively mild summer we had last year.

A summer home in Akureyri sounds nice.
