I knew about The Commons at Flickr— it’s a fantastic resource for rare and historic photos, but for some reason it never occurred to me to look for old photos of Turkey… until today. You have to go see these— a lot of them are late 19th-century, and it’s amazing to see what life was like in Turkey before it was even a republic. I especially love the colour photos, but the whole set is beautiful. Link
